Testing to ensure correct compaction

GBG was asked to perform testing to ensure that injected mortar was correctly compacted to prevent ingress of sea water into the concrete turbine bases. The curved concrete elements are cast in sections on the ground and then grouted together into a water tight base that can then be towed out to sea and the conical void filled with pumped grout to sink the foundation into position.
