Concrete Core Testing

When concrete structures require investigation, along with NDT services on offer by GBG, concrete coring can be carried out to provide physical specimens for examination and testing. The core will provide visual evidence of its construction, whether there is more than one layer of concrete, its aggregate size and composition, reinforcement details, blinding layers and its total thickness.

Concrete cores are also required for material testing. To determine whether extra load can be applied to existing structures compressional strength tests are carried out on concrete cores to provide a value of strength.
